Boofest is a showcase of Pocatello's local up and coming bands. Of the six bands on the billing, two are acoustic folk indie bands - Earthen Express and Nyr Lif, a reggae / rock jam-band - Tongue Punch, and two rock bands - Something Stirring and the sludge metal band Dirtstar.

Busani, the event organizer says, "More than just having opening and main acts, this will be a mini festival to give local bands a good amount more exposure than they have been getting. I called the show Boofest because often local bands, wherever they are, are the underdogs of music - whether or not they are great, like all these bands are."

The music starts at 6:30 p.m. and goes until 11 p.m. The show will be all ages, and the price for tickets at the door is $5. A few bands will have CDs available for sale, but for the ones that don’t, this will be a good chance to hear them live.

Also there will be a longboard raffle at the show.

Busani's band, Risingson, hits the stage from 9:30 to 10:30. "The genres we kind of fit in would be some kind of mixture between blues, and rock. We sound like a cross between Coldplay and Jimi Hendrix. I think the people who come watch us play really like the idea that you can like songs in any genre from the 70’s rock and roll to the more modern alternative and soft rock."

The members of Risingson are:
Busani Ngazimbi - guitar and vocals
Zach Parmenter - drums and vocals
Mitch Mullholand - Bass and vocals

"We’re all currently from Pocatello and have done a few house shows in the city in the past." Risingson is booked on the ISU quad for Earth Week, Tuesday the 21st of April from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m.
